Weirdly enough, it does it too when I close the Windows Picture Gallery (or whatever the default picture viewing tool is called in English. I think it sometimes gives me the BSOD, but most of the time the screen goes black and nothing happens anymore, with my PC still on.ĭid some tests with other relatively high memory usage programs, and sure enough, when I close them, my PC crashes. I have 4 Go of RAM installed though IIRC due to Vista 32 limitations, only 3 are effective? But I'm digressing the point is, when I close Firefox, it, well, closes, I mean the window, but the process is still active in the task manager, and after a few seconds, my PC crashes. The typical case is when I close Firefox: I usually have at least 20 tabs (currently 27) open at once, and according to task manager (which I always have open) FF usually takes up about 300 Mo of RAM (or is that bytes, I'm not very computer-savvy). My PC makes me mad, it seems like I've been having problems with it ever since I bought it, some.7 years ago I guess? Anyway, this time it's even more annoying than most other problems I've had: it crashes when I close some programs, especially those that are using a lot of RAM.
